Year of the Horse : The Way Forward

This two-day retreat is an immersive experience designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and move forward with clarity and trust. Guided by horses and supported through intentional practices, the weekend creates space to listen to The Herd, and paint your picture of the direction that wants to emerge from your personal vision.

The Year of the Horse invites us into movement, truth, and embodied freedom. Horses live in alignment with their instincts—responsive, present, and honest. They don’t force forward motion; they wait for clarity, safety, and trust. This retreat is an invitation to do the same.

The Way Forward is a weekend retreat designed to help you release what has been constraining you and reconnect with your natural rhythm as you step into the year ahead. Through horse-assisted experiences, yoga, and breathwork, you’ll slow down enough to listen—to your body, your nervous system, and the quiet inner signals that often get drowned out by urgency and expectation.

Working alongside horses, you’ll engage in guided, ground-based exercises that reflect how you show up in the world—how you lead, how you respond to pressure, and where you may be holding the reins too tightly or not at all. Horses respond only to what’s real, offering immediate and non-judgmental feedback that helps you find clarity, regulation, and authentic direction.

Yoga and breathwork support this process by restoring connection between mind and body, allowing tension to soften and intention to emerge. Together, these practices create space for integration—so insight doesn’t stay intellectual, but becomes something you can feel and carry forward.

You’ll leave Freedom Reins grounded, regulated, and ready to move into the year with trust—holding the reins with confidence, not control, and allowing forward motion to arise from alignment rather than force.

The Weekend

Day One : Listening to the Horse

Day One is about settling in and creating space—within yourself and within the group.

The morning begins with gentle grounding practices, including breathwork and mindful movement, to help shift out of urgency and into presence. From there, participants are introduced to the horses and the principles of horse-assisted work. All experiences are ground-based and guided, with no riding required.

Through structured horse-assisted exercises, you’ll observe how you approach connection, boundaries, and leadership—without judgment or pressure to “do it right.” Horses respond to what’s real, not what’s rehearsed, offering honest reflection that often brings insight without needing words.

Late afternoon focuses on integration: time for reflection, guided discussion, and quiet space to process what surfaced. The day closes with restorative yoga and breathwork to support regulation and rest.

Day Two : Integration & Forward Movement

Day Two builds on the awareness gained the day before and gently turns toward movement and intention.

The morning opens with breathwork and embodied practices designed to support clarity and grounded momentum. Participants then return to the horses for deeper, intention-based exercises that explore themes of trust, choice, and moving forward at a pace that feels aligned.

Rather than setting rigid goals, the focus is on recognizing what supports sustainable forward movement—and what may be ready to be released. The horses continue to be partners in this process, responding to presence, consistency, and authenticity.

The retreat concludes with a closing circle and integration practices that help translate insight into everyday life. Participants leave with a felt sense of direction, tools for self-regulation, and a renewed ability to move into the next season with confidence, awareness, and trust.
